Concord: at LiGHT23

For over 55 years, Concord has been at the forefront of the architectural lighting industry. Creating innovative and industry defining products that have been mainstays in some of the most iconic buildings throughout Europe and further afield.

.

It is important to show these products in their intended setting. Which is why, on 21st & 22nd November 2023, Concord will bring many of them along to LiGHT23, where they are exhibiting alongside their partner, SIMES.

Innovation is at Concord’s heart; the R&D team work tirelessly to bring products that will change the industry to market. This is most evident when one looks at Concord’s heritage, and their prestigious design awards and accolades within the industry in recent years. The Stadium spotlight won the Red Dot award in 2010. In 2011, Beacon Muse won 4 lighting industry awards, mandating a ‘clean sweep’ and expert endorsement for the high performance and beauty of the product. This was followed in 2013 when Concord Glace won the Best Interior Luminaire at the Lighting Design Awards and was a finalist at the Lux Awards and the FX Awards. Whilst 2014 saw industry recognition of Concord’s Officelyte with new intelligent Sylsmart technology. The Equinox, winner of the 2023 Red Dot Design Award for Lighting Design firmly cements Concord as the brand of choice for the Specification lighting sector.

On show at LiGHT23 will be the Equinox, among others. Bringing innovation, flexibility, and style together in any environment it is installed in. “The idea of Concord Equinox originated after visiting a lighting exhibition and finding there our future technology partner – QuarkStar. Together we have created a very innovative downlight that allows equal diffusion of lighting towards the floor and the ceiling with the halo effect” says Ian Chumbley, one of the Senior Product Architects at Sylvania Lighting’s Newhaven facility. The Equinox winning the prestigious Red Dot Design Award 2023 is a huge achievement for all involved and brings immense possibilities to architects and interior designers alike.

The latest luminaire to join the Concord family is Solstice, a new Downlight created for the architectural specification market. Concord held its first in person launch event in quite some time for the Solstice range, presenting a juxtaposition of modern lighting design and merging that with classic and iconic design from the past. The range is a one stop option for architects and lighting designers who are looking for a minimalistic, environmentally friendly, yet distinguishable design across one shared platform..

Along with the Equinox and Solstice, the iconic Beacon will also be on show. The world renowned tracklight that has found itself to be the luminaire of choice for gallery and museum lighting for many years.

Sharing the stand with Concord is SIMES.

On display at LiGHT23 will be several ranges from the SIMES catalogue. The IP System, the first IP54 lighting system, allows you to create flexible lighting scenarios in outdoor, residential and humid indoor environments. The plug-in watertight coupling system guarantees a high degree of protection on all elements of the system and allows you to flexibly illuminate any space with the plug-in electrical coupling. This allows the customers to customise and compose their own system with SIMES plug-in ranges, including the Ceiling, Finger and Flower Zoom plug-ins, which will be on display.

SIMES are experts at discrete architectural lighting, and the Feeling floor lamp, with its slender and elegant stem creates atmospheric light in any environment it is placed in, fully portrays this. In addition, the Pivot with its interchangeable beam allows for flexibility and technology in an ultra-slim design. Pivot perfectly adapts to any scene; all the designer has to do is choose the desired inclination from an infinite number of possibilities.

Alongside this impressive range of luminaires, customers will also have a chance to see SIMES products in their preferred setting. A planter on the stand will show several of their Bollard ranges in the environment they are intended to be viewed in. The Tonight Bollard, ideal for urban and residential environments has the option for both 180° and 360° distribution. The Tomorrow bollard has been specifically developed for pedestrian areas as it can perfectly blend into the surrounding shrubbery, due to its two height options. While also being extremely high performing and distributing 360° homogenous light without shadows. In addition to the above, the Flower and Apply ground stakes will be on display, perfect for illuminating green areas, walkways and flowerbeds while enhancing the scene and disappearing into the environment.

LiGHT23 is set to be one of the biggest events of the year for both Concord and SIMES. In 2022, more than 3,500 architects, interior designers and lighting designers passed through the doors to see some of the most recognised international lighting brands showcasing their newest product ranges for the specification market.

With extended space and new features for 2023, the Business Design Centre in Islington, London, will completely transform for the two-day event, held over 21st and 22nd November. Concord and SIMES can be found on stand 65.
