Entry open for SLL Young Lighter 2019
2019 marks the 25th year of the SLL Young Lighter competition. Over the years we have seen some incredible projects and notable winners, making this competition an invaluable platform to explore and discuss ideas relating to light, particularly for those at the early stages of their career.
With fresh entry criteria for 2019, the competition is open to ANYONEwith an interest in light and lighting. Entrants must be under the age of 30 by 10 May 2019, which is also the closing date for entries. The winner is named SLL Young Lighter 2019 and will receive a cash prize of £1000.
Entries can be based on ANY light related topic!
WSP’s Emma Beadle was last year’s Society of Light and Lighting’s Young Lighter of the Year 2018 for her paper Children’s Utopian Vision of the City: Codesigning lighting masterplans through play and exploration.
Using a co-design methodology, Beadle’s project aimed to engage students with lighting design at a young age. Adopting tested co-design methods for working with children, the project was formed around ethnography, observation, interviews and workshops
